Aston Martin Gets Weight Break for 6H Spa

Aston Martin Racing will head into this weekend’s FIA WEC Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with a weight break for its GTE-Pro class Vantage, following the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments, released on Tuesday.

The Vantage has been given a 20kg decrease in minimum weight from last month’s season-opener at Silverstone, bringing the total weight of the V8-powered car down to 1213kg.

It is now, by far, the lightest car in the GTE-Pro class, with the Porsche 911 RSR and Ferrari 488 GTE both weighing in at 1243kg and the Ford GT at 1263kg.

Ford has also been given a break for the Belgian round, with the Ford GTs receiving a 4.5mm increase in refueling restrictor. It will result in a quicker refueling times.

No changes have been made to any cars in the GTE-Am class, which utilizes the previous-generation of GTE regulations.

On-track activity for this weekend’s round kicks off on Thursday.
