Parente Quickest in FP3 at Sepang

K-PAX Racing led the way again, with a late flyer by Alvaro Parente putting the American squad’s McLaren 650S GT3 on top of the time sheets in Free Practice 3 for Saturday’s Motul Sepang 12 Hours.

The newly crowned Pirelli World Challenge champion reeled off a 2:03.502 lap late in the two-hour session to pip Earl Bamber, in the No. 911 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 RSR by 0.039 seconds.

The pair of Audi Sport Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS cars were third and fourth quickest overall, led by the No. 15 car of Christopher Haase, Robin Frijns and Intercontinental GT Challenge points leader Laurens Vanthoor.

The top-five was completed by the No. 50 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GT3, with no significant incidents reported.

Qualifying gets underway at 3 p.m. local time, followed by a Top 15 Shootout at 4:30 p.m.
