Porsche Completes 30-Hour Test at Paul Ricard

Porsche has completed its second major endurance test with its updated 919 Hybrid, in what the German manufacturer has deemed a successful 30-hour run at Paul Ricard ahead of this weekend’s Prologue at Monza.

A total of 3,800 miles was logged over a comprehensive two-day test, marking the first running with the final specification engine.

All six drivers: Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, Neel Jani as well as newcomers Andre Lotterer, Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy were in attendance for the final endurance test prior to next month’s FIA World Endurance Championship season-opening Six Hours of Silverstone.

“Track conditions this week were ideal, allowing us to work on race preparation for Le Mans,: said chief race engineer Stephen Mitas.

“Good steps for Le Mans have been made in terms of performance and reliability, with only minor issues experienced.”

The car completed an installation lap on Sunday at the French circuit, which led to a number of photos being leaked prior to its official launch, which is scheduled for Friday at Monza.
