Drama for Van der Linde With Four Hours to Go

Kelvin van der Linde brushes wall in race-contending No. 22 Audi…

Drama has struck the race-contending No. 22 Jamec Pem Racing Audi R8 LMS of Kelvin van der Linde with just over four hours remaining in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Van der Linde’s Audi made contact with the inside barriers entering the Dipper, damaging the left-rear of the GT3 car, which had been running second at the time.

The car remains in the garage undergoing repairs, slashing Audi’s hopes of victory.

The No. 22 Audi of Markus Winklehock leads overall, in front of new second-place runner Matt Campbell in the No. 12 Competition Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, who is the leading Pro-Am competitor.

Guy Smith has been elevated to third overall following a pit stop for the No. 11 Objective Racing McLaren 650S GT3, with the No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in fourth.
