The BMW M8 GTE and Lexus RC F GT3 have been hit with Balance of Performance adjustments following Mid-Ohio, with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 given a slight weight break heading into next weekend’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round in Detroit.

IMSA confirmed Friday the latest round of BoP changes, which sees the BMW receive a turbo boost decrease, between 3500-7500 RPM, as well as a four-liter reduction in fuel capacity.

It comes following sizable boost increases given to the BMW following the Rolex 24 at Daytona but a re-adjustment after the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring that resulted in a slight power decrease.

The changes to the BMW will take effect in the next GT Le Mans round at Watkins Glen, as the class is not in action at Belle Isle.

The Lexus, which dominated Mid-Ohio, meanwhile, will be 25kg heavier in Detroit, while the Mercedes has been given a 10kg weight break following early season struggles.

For the first time this year, no BoP changes have been made to the Prototype class, although IMSA has released additional clarification regarding each car’s permitted aero configurations.

A total of 25 cars are on the entry list for the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, including the return of Spirit of Daytona’s Cadillac DPi-V.R.
