Porsche has confirmed a contract extension with Manthey Racing, which will continue to field factory Porsche 911 RSRs in the FIA World Endurance Championship for at least the next two seasons.
The announcement was made Sunday in Shanghai, site of the final WEC round of the 2018 calendar year.
Manthey, which the German manufacturer holds a majority stake in, has run Porsche’s GTE-Pro class entries in the WEC since 2013, enjoying multiple successes, including the GTE drivers’ and manufacturers’ championship in 2015 and two class victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Its new contract comes on the heels of Porsche also extending its partnership with CORE autosport in operations of its factory GT Le Mans class effort in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
