Car Collection Remains in Lead as Race Settles Down

Car Collection Motorsport has remained in the lead of the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai as the battle among the A6-Pro and A6-Am classes settled down.

Frederic Vervisch is currently at the wheel of Car Collection’s No. 88 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, having cycled through stints with Rik Breukers, Christopher Haase and Dimitri Parhofer.

The Belgian has a steady two-minute lead over Josef Kral in the Bohemia Energy Racing with Scuderia Praha Ferrari 488 GT3, although a further four cars are on the same lap has the Ferrari.

As of approximately 10 p.m. local time, Car Collection has so far led 145 of the race’s 176 laps in a dominant performance from the German team’s lead Audi so far.

There are four Audi GT3 Evos in the top five, with entries from Attempto Racing, BWT by Muecke Motorsport and MS7 by WRT all running highly.

Grasser Racing Team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 has made up position following its broken suspension earlier, which was caused by contact from a Porsche Cup car, and is now three laps off the lead.

The race has now had nine Code 60 periods, most of which have been called to clear up incidents from lower-placed GT cars.

The most recent Code 60, brought out after a little over seven hours of racing, was to collect the stricken Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 which stopped on track, losing the GT4 class lead.

This has moved Jon Minshaw, in the ERC Sport Mercedes-AMG GT4, into the class lead.
