Hindman to Sub for Curtis in Race 2; RealTime Moves to Pro

The RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo will contest today’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America race in the Pro category after a late change of driver lineup.

Trent Hindman will step into the No. 43 RealTime machine for the start of Sunday’s 90-minute contest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in place of Bret Curtis.

It’s understood that Curtis has been ruled out due to back pain, a day after he and co-driver Dane Cameron finished fifth in class during the weekend’s opening race.

Hindman, who will not be eligible for drivers’ championship points, will start from the back of the grid after Cameron originally qualified best of the Pro-Am runners and fifth overall.

The 23-year-old is at CTMP because of his commitments competing in the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX East series with Alan Brynjolfsson in a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR.

Hindman also drives the Meyer Shank-entered Acura GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and is the current GT Daytona points co-leader.

RealTime’s re-allocation to the Pro class for Race 2 means seven cars will vie for honors in the top category, while five are now listed in Pro-Am. 

The No. 9 K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3 will start from pole position, ahead of the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Frerari 488 GT3 that won Race 1 on Saturday.
