Risi Announces Rolex 24 Entry with Factory Drivers

Risi Competizione has confirmed its return to the Rolex 24 at Daytona with a Ferrari GT Le Mans class crew that includes the reigning 24 Hour of Le Mans GTE-Pro winning trio.

James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra, who won the French endurance classic in June and Motul Petit Le Mans with Risi in October, will be joined by Ferrari factory driver Davide Rigon.

The quartet will co-drive the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“We will once again return to Daytona for the 24-hour race and the early January testing,” said team owner Giuseppe Risi.

“This is always one of the most important races on the calendar so we will be there and ready to go against what is always a challenging field of competitors.

“We always race to win and after our victory at Petit Le Mans to close out this year, we want to start with a win all the more in 2020.”

Risi finished second at Daytona this year to BMW Team RLL with a four-man crew composed of Calado, Pier Guidi, Rigon and Miguel Molina.

Serra, who is the only non-works driver in the lineup, also competed in the event for a Ferrari team but in the GT3-based GT Daytona category with Spirit of Race.

The Brazilian’s last Rolex 24 appearance in the GTLM class came behind the wheel of a Spirit of Race-entered 488 in 2016.

Next month’s Daytona enduro will mark the seventh consecutive edition to feature a Risi car on the entry list.

No commitment has been made beyond the WeatherTech Championship season-opener.
