The iconic Champion Racing colors have returned to a Porsche that Romain Dumas will campaign in this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Unveiled on Monday, it is the latest iteration of the multi-colored livery that was originally created in a combined effort in 1995 between Dave Schnorr and Champion founder Dave Maraj and run on numerous Porsches and Audis through the years.

Shnorr has been commissioned to bring the livery back to life in a “more modernized” version with “sharper lines” on the Dumas-driven Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport.

Dumas completed a test run at Pikes Peak earlier this month in the Michelin-shod entry, which features a modified larger rear wing, diffuser and front splitter, among other “additional aerodynamic elements” according to a team statement.

The Frenchman, a four-time winner of the event who also holds the lap record from the 2018 running in Volkswagen’s I.D. R electric prototype, will be competing in the Time Attack 1 division.

The June 27 event will mark Florida dealership’s return to racing for the first time since the 2008 American Le Mans Series season when it operated the factory Audi R10 TDI program.
