De Angelis Tops Practice 1 at Sebring

Roman De Angeles led the way in opening practice for Sunday’s Michelin IMSA SportsCar Encore at Sebring International Raceway.

De Angeles laid down a quick lap of 1:58.926 in the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports Ligier JS P3 Nissan, outpacing the No. 26 K2R Racing Ligier of Matt Bell by 0.084 seconds.

The No. 25 P1 Motorsports Ligier of Kenton Koch was third quickest on the overall time charts followed by the sister K2R entry in fourth.

Katherine Legge completed the top-five in the No. 40 Polestar Motor Racing Ligier.

GT4 was led by the No. 60 Roush Performance / KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4, with the No. 54 JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS TCR quickest of the TCR entries.

Seventeen of the 20 cars turned laps in the one-hour session, which was halted early when the No. 4 ANSA Ligier of Zach Robichon ground to a halt in Turn 1.

The car sustained axle failure, per IMSA Radio.

Practice 2 is set for 10:10 a.m. ET.
