A late flyer by Kenton Koch has put P1 Motorsports atop the time charts in the second practice session of the weekend for Sunday’s Michelin IMSA SportsCar Encore.

Koch reeled off a 1:58.974 in his No. 25 Ligier JS P3 Nissan to go quickest of the 60-minute session, outpacing the pair of ANSA Motorsports Ligiers, which ended up second and third.

Kyle Kirkwood’s 1:59.047 lap time put the Practice 1 pace-setting Ligier in second, followed by the No. 4 entry, which returned to action following an axle failure in the first session.

The No. 26 K2R Motorsports Ligier was fourth quickest, with the No. 2 ANSA Ligier completing the top-five.

KohR Motorsports led the way again in GT4, with the No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4 quickest, while the No. 54 JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS of Stephen Simpson and Michael Johnson leading the way in TCR.

The session saw a brief red flag for the NOLAsport Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, which stopped on track but later continued.

A third and final practice session, split between GT4/TCR and LMP3 machinery, gets underway at 1:25 p.m. ET for the production-based machinery and at 2:45 p.m. for prototypes.

RESULTS: Practice 2
