A day after IMSA announced the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge GS and ST races at Lime Rock Park would be combined into one, the entry list for the sixth round of the season reveals a larger than expected grid.

A field of 40 cars is entered for the Northeast Grand Prix, which will make for a crowded field on the 1.5-mile bullring road course in Connecticut, for the two-hour race. It’s five more cars than were at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last race.

No major changes are expected in the 13-car GS field, although 2014 Nissan GT Academy U.S. winner Nic Hammann is expected to make his GS debut in the team’s No. 41 Nissan 370Z. Hammann is not currently listed, while Nick McMillen and Steve Doherty are.

The No. 57 Racers Edge Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R and No. 99 Automatic Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 are also expected to return after missing the previous round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The 27-car ST field also doesn’t have any significant changes of note.

Liam Dwyer returns to the track with a chance to defend his emotional first career victory last year in what is currently the sole Freedom Autosport Mazda MX-5 he shares with fellow points leader Andrew Carbonell.

LAP Motorsports lists a TBA for its No. 37 MINI JCW alongside Zack Meyer; Ryan Eversley will be in the No. 93 HART Honda Civic Si, again, despite not being listed on this version of the entry list.

The revised Round 6 takes place at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, July 25.
