The third round of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season, the Monterey Grand Prix powered by Mazda, will see at least a 43-car field split between 18 GS and 25 ST cars, with the potential to grow with additional entries.

The 18-car GS field is nearly status quo as in Sebring with a couple of exceptions.

ENTRY LIST: Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix

CJ Wilson Racing is listed to enter a Porsche 911, which would mark the team’s shift up into the category, along with its single Mazda MX-5 continuing in ST.

Additionally, past Nissan GT Academy USA winner Steven Doherty will step into the No. 41 Doran Racing Nissan 370Z alongside Nick McMillen next weekend, replacing Bryan Heitkotter.

ST’s 25-car field features the usual fleet of Porsche Caymans and Mazda MX-5s with a couple changes sprinkled in throughout the lineup.

Justin Piscitell, who has scored pole positions for the first two races, is set to continue with Alara Racing in its MX-5, alongside Christian Szymczak.

Kuno Wittmer is also listed for his second straight drive in the No. 93 HART Honda Civic Si, alongside Chad Gilsinger.

The pair of MINI Cooper JCW entries will have revised lineups. Open-wheel veteran Zack Meyer will share the No. 37 car with Remo Ruscitti, while World Challenge Touring Car B-spec drivers Glenn Nixon and Wei Lu will be in the team’s sister No. 52 car.

A second Freedom Autosport Mazda MX-5 is entered with drivers TBA.

As in Sebring, the trio of Rennsport One Porsche Caymans are not listed on the first draft of the entry list, but figure to make the trip out west to continue their seasons.

The third round of the season runs on Saturday, May 2.
