CJ Wilson Racing will add a GS class effort to its Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge program, with the team confirming a Porsche 911 on Wednesday alongside its ST class Mazda MX-5.

Marc Miller and Tyler McQuarrie will share the No. 33 Fantasy Garage-backed Porsche 911 for at least two races, starting at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca next weekend. The pair will also race at Lime Rock Park in July, with further races possible in class.

Miller announced the program on Radio Le Mans’ Midweek Motorsport on Wednesday.

The switch from their usual No. 3 in ST to the No. 33 mirrors team principal Wilson’s baseball number for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as the car takes on the livery of new partner Twin-Star Home Furnishings and its Fantasy Garage brand.

“We’re really excited about the new challenges that we face as we step into the GS class and the incredible level of competition that it offers. The pairing of the Porsche 911 with our new partner, Fantasy Garage, is an ideal one,” Wilson said.

Miller will add this car to his diverse portfolio of machinery he’ll race this year.

“After many successful seasons racing in ST, this transition to the GS class in the Fantasy Garage Porsche 911 is something I have looked forward to for a long time,” Miller said.

“I have missed racing in higher-horsepower classes, and I’m really looking forward to the challenge of developing this portion of our program into a race-winning effort.”

Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer will continue in the ModSpace-backed No. 5 MX-5 car in ST, as they have to open the year.
