The No. 84 Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic Type-R TCR has lost its class pole for today’s Mid-Ohio 120 due to a technical infraction announced by IMSA early this morning.

The Brian Henderson-driven entry was found to have been “in conflict” of the TCR technical regulations on the car’s front splitter and front wheel arch liners.

Sportscar365 understands the team had fabricated an identical aluminum wheel arch liner instead of the homologated kevlar out of concerns of the kevlar design cutting tires.

It will result in Henderson starting from the rear of the 15-car TCR field.

Chris Miller has inherited class pole as a result in his No. 17 JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS3 LMS TCR.

The Mid-Ohio 120 gets underway at 3:35 p.m. ET with live coverage on Trackpass on NBC Sports Gold and IMSA Radio.
