Ford has confirmed its all-new Ford Performance Junior Driver Team, which will feature six up-and-coming talents plus two GT3 Junior drivers, the latter which will be supported through its partner Haupt Racing Team in Europe.
Announced on Thursday, the new program is the latest step in Ford Performance’s ladder system for drivers and teams, which offers road racing platforms from the new-for-2025 Mustang Cup to Mustang Challenge and GT4 and GT3 competition globally.
All six drivers, who drove in Mustang machinery last year, were put through rigorous tests, including facing a panel of Ford Performance leaders to “answer questions across a broad spectrum” according to Ford Performance manager of driving experiences Tamara Falkenstein.
“All passed the test with flying colors,” she added.
“We are the only manufacturer with the strategy that can develop a driver – and a race team or marketing partner – from entry level one-make Mustang Cup racing to the highly competitive and professional Mustang Challenge, all the way through to international GT4 racing and into GT3 at Le Mans.”
Ford Multimatic Motorsports factory driver Mike Rockenfeller will mentor the junior drivers in North America, while Andy Priaulx will do the same in Europe.
