Trent Hindman topped the time sheets in Thursday’s one-and-only Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice at Watkins Glen, in preparation for Saturday’s Continental Tire 150.

Hindman laid down a quick lap of 2:00.277 in his No. 12 BodyMotion Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport to edge out the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Shelby GT350R-C of Billy Johnson by 0.579 seconds.

However, it was mixed fortunes for the Sebring and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race-winner, as the car stopped on track with fluids coming from the rear of the Porsche.

It brought out the only red flag of the 45-minute session.

David Murry was third quickest overall and in the GS class in his No. 46 Team TGM Porsche, followed by Pierre Kleinubing’s No. 76 C360R Ford Shelby in fourth.

The ST class was an all-Porsche Cayman affair, led by RS1.

Spencer Pumpelly was quickest in class, thanks to his 2:06.760 lap in the team’s No. 17 Cayman, with Connor Bloum second in the No. 19 machine.

Andrew Carbonell completed the top-three in class in his No. 26 Freedom Autosport Mazda MX-5.

A final practice session is set for Friday at 8 a.m. ET, prior to qualifying in the afternoon.
