Andy Lally will make his return to Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge action this weekend at Virginia International Raceway, with the sports car racing veteran joining RS1 for the eighth round of the season.

The Georgia native joins Philip Bloom at the wheel of the team’s No. 18 Porsche Cayman in the ST class. It will mark Lally’s first Continental Tire Challenge start since Sebring 2015, when he drove a Rebel Rock Racing Porsche.

ENTRY LIST: VIR

Lally is one of four drivers that are set to pull double duty between the Continental Tire Challenge and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races this weekend, joining Robin Liddell, Corey Lewis and ST championship leader Spencer Pumpelly, also of RS1.

Pumpelly and co-driver Nick Galante hold a 14-point lead over the Freedom Autosport pairing of Stevan McAleer and Chad McCumbee heading into the final three rounds of the season.

The ST class features 28 entries for VIR, including the return of former class champions Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra in a second Alara Racing Mazda MX-5.

Eight cars are entered in GS, led by championship leaders Billy Johnson and Scott Maxwell, who will be seeking their fourth consecutive win in their Multimatic Motorsports Ford Shelby GT350R-C.

Practice for the Continental Tire 150 at VIR kicks off on Friday, with the two-hour and 30-minute race set for Saturday afternoon.
