Scott Maxwell took pole position for Multimatic Motorsports in qualifying for Friday’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge round at Circuit of The Americas.

Maxwell set a time of 2:23.439 in the championship-leading Ford Shelby GT350R-C that he will share with Billy Johnson in the two-hour and 30-minute race.

Danny Burkett will line up alongside Maxwell in the CJ Wilson Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, with C360R’s Paul Holton in third.

Tyler Cooke took the ST class pole in a bizarre qualifying session that only saw the first flying laps posted in the final minute.

Cooke’s BimmerWorld Racing BMW 328i takes its fourth class pole of the season, and will start alongside Sarah Cattaneo’s CRG-I Do Borrow Nissan Altima in second.

Drake Kemper qualified third ahead of Chad McCumbee, for Alara Racing and Freedom Autosport respectively.

The ST session was red-flagged for three minutes as Matthew Keegan went off track in his C360R-run Audi S3.
