LA Honda World Racing powered by LAP Motorsports will field three new Honda Civic Type-R TCRs for the Michelin Pilot Challenge season-opener at Daytona next weekend.

Former series champion Mike LaMarra and veteran Mat Pombo will continue with the No. 73 on their new Honda TCR, as the pairing look to continue the streak of success that culminated with victory last year in ST class competition.

Tom O’Gorman will team up with Shelby Blackstock, who is returning to IMSA competition in the No. 37 car, while Max Faulkner and Colin Mullan will share the No. 52 Honda TCR after battling each other in ST lat year.

“What a way to celebrate LAP Motorsports’ 10th anniversary,” said team principal Luis Perocarpi. “To have our road race program competing at the highest level in the US, in IMSA on their 50th anniversary, it couldn’t be any more exciting.

“With all the new manufacturers and teams entering the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR championship, it will be the most competitive racing in the country.

“We have put a significant amount of effort into our transition from ST to TCR and we have assembled a very strong driver lineup. We know it won’t be easy but every single team member is ready for the new challenge.”
