Forty7 Norma goes quickest in Friday practice for IMSA Prototype Challenge at VIR…

Forty7 Motorsports went quickest in the opening day of IMSA Prototype Challenge action at Virginia International Raceway with its best lap time set during Friday’s opening practice session.

Rodrigo Pflucker set a flying lap of 1:41.160 in the team’s Norma M30 Nissan to keep it on top for the rest of the day. 

Pflucker and Austin McCusker currently hold a 13-point lead at the top of the championship standings.

Stevan McAleer in the No. 43 Robillard Racing Norma was fastest in the evening practice with a time of 1.41.850 seconds. The session was ultimately cut short by around five minutes due to lightning in the area.

JDC MotorSports’ Norma was the third quickest car of the day, while Forty7’s other car placed fourth in the combined standings.

K2R Motorsports had the quickest Ligier JS P3 Nissan, which ended the day as the fifth fastest car.

Prototype Challenge cars will be back on track Saturday for qualifying at 10:45 a.m. EDT ahead of the one-hour, 45-minute race at 5:55 p.m.
