Jamin Set for LMP3 Debut with ANSA in Sebring

Mazda Road to Indy star Nico Jamin is set for his LMP3 debut in this week’s new-look IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda season-opener at Sebring, having been confirmed in a second entry from ANSA Motorsports.

The 21-year-old Frenchman will pilot a Ligier JS P3 alongside the previously confirmed Matt Dicken, who is set for a full-season campaign with the Florida-based team.

It will mark Jamin’s first experience a LMP3 car, having recently graduated into Indy Lights with Andretti Autosport following a third place finish in Pro Mazda last year and winning the US F2000 championship in 2015.

Jamin also has previous experience with ANSA, having driven for the team in the IMSA Prototype Lites in 2015.

“I am super excited to be back on track with ANSA Motorsports in the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda series,” Jamin said. “I never drove an LMP3 car before but I only heard good things about it.

“I love Sebring International Raceway. I’m looking forward to a great weekend. I believe we can have a strong result with ANSA Motorsports and the new Ligier P3.”

Team owner Alain Nadal said he’s looking forward to the start of a new era in the championship, which adopts LMP3 regulations in the top class.

“I am so happy that we are going to finally race for real,” Nadal said.

“We worked hard this winter, and I am glad that we can field two competitive Ligiers in the LMP3 class for Dicken and Nico Jamin in rounds 1 and 2 at Sebring. Our team is ready to fight for the top positions.”

The addition of a second ANSA entry brings the LMP3 class up to an expected 13 entries for this week’s season-opening event.
