A total of 28 cars are set to take part in next weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, in the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship sprint race of the season.
Released on Wednesday, the entry is comprised of eight GTP cars, five GTD Pro machines and 15 GTD entries for the third round of the season.
There are no major surprises to the list, with full-season lineups in both GTP and GTD Pro remaining unchanged while GTD sees the addition of Racers Edge Motorsports with WTR Andretti, as previously reported by Sportscar365, and the absence of the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Jeroen Bleekmeolen, meanwhile, has been drafted into the No. 92 Kellymoss with Riley Porsche, taking the seat of David Brule, while Turner Motorsport’s Bill Auberlen and Chandler Hull are set for their first race of the season in the GTD class after contesting the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in GTD Pro.
Long Beach will mark the street course debut for the new-for-2023 GT3 machinery from Porsche, Ferrari and updated cars from Lamborghini and McLaren, with IMSA having confirmed the Balance of Performance last week.
Track action kicks off on Fri. April 14, with the 100-minute street race set for Sat. April 15.
