A total of 33 entries are set for next weekend’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in the only LMP2 headline race of the season.
Released by IMSA on Wednesday, the list features ten of the Pro-Am driver-enforced prototypes, ten GTD Pro entries and 13 GTD cars.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP star Ricky Taylor has joined Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports’ lineup, subbing for the FIA World Endurance Championship-bound Harry Tincknell in the No. 52 Oreca 07 Gibson.
The only other change in LMP2 due to drivers being in Brazil is in the No. 22 United Autosports Oreca, with Ben Hanley in place for Paul di Resta, as previously announced.
Jon Field’s co-driver in the No 37 Intersport Racing entry is to-be-determined on the entry list. Oliver Jarvis was announced as a the team’s full-season pilot.
Notably absent is the No. 18 Era Motorsport Oreca, which is registered as a full season entrant, but has elected not to make the trip North of the Border. A team spokesperson declined to comment on the reason when asked by Sportscar365.
GTD Pro sees an additional entry for Mosport in the No. 68 YRB Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, which moves from the GTD ranks following its third place class finish in last weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
Valentin Hasse Clot will be joined by Scott Andrews in the ex-Van der Steur Racing entry next weekend.
The No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Lamborghini Temerario GT3 currently lists a TBD alongside Sandy Mitchell, as Andrea Caldarelli sustained an eye injury in the closing stages of the Watkins Glen race as is currently not yet cleared to drive.
In GTD, Roman De Angelis subs for Tom Gamble in the No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin, as previously revealed by Sportscar365.
Additionally, Robert Wickens is set for his return to the No. 36 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which will mark his first outing since the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach due to a transporter fire that destroyed nearly all of the team’s equipment while en route to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the second sprint round on the GTD calendar.
Frederik Schandorff will be back in the No. 70 Inception Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo after skipping Watkins Glen due to the clashing CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
Casper Stevenson, DragonSpeed’s Michelin Endurance Cup pilot, will be in for Henrik Hedman in the No. 81 Corvette.
The two-hour and 40-minute race is set for Sun. July 12.
