AO Racing has unveiled the livery of its Oreca 07 Gibson LMP2 entry, introducing ‘Spike’ the purple and orange dragon as its new mascot.

It joins the team’s No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R, which will continue to sport the ‘Rexy’ livery in its move up to GTD Pro.

“After many months of incubation, we are finally ready to hatch Spike to the world of racing,” said team principal Gunnar Jeannette.

“Rexy has been such a big hit across the globe in his debut year, that we wanted to give all the fans a dragon to cheer for in LMP2.

“We hope that everyone will give Spike a warm welcome to the IMSA paddock.”

As previously announced, the No. 99 LMP2 car will be driven by PJ Hyett, Paul-Loup Chatin, Matthew Brabham, and Alex Quinn for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, beginning with this month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Hyett and Chatin, meanwhile, will be the team’s full season drivers, with Brabham completing the lineup for the remaining Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.
