Black Swan Racing is set to make its first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start in nearly a year, with the Tim Pappas-owned operation poised to be on the grid for this month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The team is understood to have submitted an entry for its Porsche 911 GT3 R, although drivers beyond Bronze-rated Pappas have not yet been disclosed. Sportscar365 understands it will feature at least one factory Porsche pilot.

Pappas teamed with Jeroen Bleekemolen, Trenton Estep and Sven Mueller for a fifth place class finish in last year’s event, following an accident in practice that forced the squad to go to a spare chassis.

It’s unclear if Black Swan has been registered to contest any additional IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races beyond the Daytona season-opener.

Pappas is taking part in this weekend’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

The entry list for the Rolex 24, which is expected to feature close to a 50-car grid, is due to be released later this week.
