Tom Blomqvist led the way in a shortened ten-minute warmup session for this afternoon’s Motul Course de Monterey powered by Hyundai N.
The Meyer Shank Racing driver recorded a best time of 1:17.385 in the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 to outpace the No. 5 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche 963 of Mike Rockenfeller by 0.608 seconds.
Alexander Sims completed the top-three in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R.
Giedo van der Garde (LMP2), Gabby Chaves (GTD) and Jack Hawksworth (GTD Pro) led their respective classes.
Twenty-five of the 38 cars entered turned laps, although only 21 had set full lap times.
The session, originally scheduled for 20 minutes in length, started 1 hour and 35 minutes late due to dense fog around the 2.238-mile circuit.
It has resulted in a delayed schedule although the two-hour and 40-minute race is likely to start on time at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET) due to its live network NBC television window.
