Sebastien Bourdais led a Chip Ganassi Racing sweep of the top two positions in the second and final practice session prior to qualifying for Saturday’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Bourdais stormed to a quick lap of 1:10.913 in the No. 01 Cadillac DPi-V.R to edge out teammate Alex Lynn in the sister No. 02 entry by 0.077 seconds.

The fastest lap times of the day came at near 100-degree Fahrenheit ambient temperatures, in record-breaking heat to hit Southern California.

And unlike the morning practice, the 1 hour and 45-minute session ran without any red flags.

Pipo Derani, who paced the opening session, was third in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac while Tom Blomqvist made a late improvement to fourth in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05.

The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura DPi of Filipe Albuquerque completed the top-five.

GTD Pro was led by the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Mathieu Jaminet.

The Frenchman reeled off a 1:18.874 in the closing stages of the session to edge out the No. 25 Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 of Connor De Phillippi by 0.041 seconds.

The No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD of Jordan Taylor was third quickest among the GTD contenders and in the GTD Pro class.

Frederik Schandorff led the way in GTD, meanwhile, thanks to a 1:19.490 lap time in the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3.

It was 0.053 seconds quicker than the No. 32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Mike Skeen, with Robby Foley third in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW.

Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 5:15 p.m. PT.
