Bourdais Paces Second Road Atlanta Practice

Sebastien Bourdais recorded a series of late flyers to go quickest in the second practice session for Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver took his No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R to a best lap of 1:09.671 seconds as the only driver to break the 1:10 barrier so far this weekend.

Bourdais, who also paced opening practice this morning, edged out the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8 of Augusto Farfus by 0.432 seconds.

Felipe Nasr ended up third quickest in the No. 7 Penske Porsche 963, followed by the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Acura ARX-06 of Louis Deletraz.

The No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura of Tom Blomqvist completed the top-five overall and in the GTP class.

LMP2 was led by the No. 11 TDS Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Scott Huffaker, who edged out Paul-Loup Chatin and Nolan Siegel for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports and CrowdStrike by APR, respectively.

Garett Grist was quickest in LMP3 aboard the No. 30 Jr. III Racing Ligier JS P320 Nissan.

Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia laid down a 1:19.543 in the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD to go quickest in GTD Pro, edging out Daniel Serra’s No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 of Daniel Serra.

The No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Madison Snow led GTD with the third quickest time of the production-based ranks.

The session saw a single red flag, for an accident by the No. 35 TDS Racing Oreca of Giedo van der Garde, who went off and made contact with the Turn 3 barriers.

There were several other on-track incidents, including a spin for Kevin Estre in the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R and contact made to the No. 83 Iron Dames Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

Fifty-one of the 52 cars turned laps in the session, with the No. 47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari not taking to the track after undergoing repairs following Antonio Fuoco’s accident in opening practice this morning.

The third and final practice of the day is set for a 7:30 p.m. EDT start and runs until 9 p.m.
