Ferrari Completes Latest 499P Evo Test at COTA

Ferrari has completed its latest test of potential upgrades to its 499P FIA World Endurance Championship challenger at the Circuit of The Americas.

Following its victory in last weekend’s Lone Star Le Mans, Ferrari stayed behind for two days of testing at the Texan venue on Tuesday and Wednesday as it continued to evaluate a range of Evo joker updates for its title-winning Hypercar.

Factory drivers James Calado, Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Yifei Ye all took part in the test, which also involved the current-spec 499P. Calado, Nielsen and Ye were all getting behind the wheel of the 2027 test car for the first time.

It marks the second time Ferrari has run its camouflage-liveried test mule after an initial two-day outing at the end of last month at Monza, where Fuoco was in action alongside Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and Miguel Molina.

Ferrari has a busy of autumn of testing planned, with a day of testing planned at Fuji Speedway on Sept. 29, two days after the 6 Hours of Fuji.

That will be followed by further outings at Silverstone on Oct. 7 and at Barcelona on Oct. 20, shortly after next month’s first-ever WEC race at the Spanish venue.

Ferrari sits third in the WEC manufacturers’ standings after its COTA win with Fuoco, Molina and Nielsen, its first triumph of a tough title defense.

Its 2027 update, which remains yet to be finalized, is set to mark the first time it has deployed Evo jokers on the 499P since the middle of the 2024 season.
