Brundle Paces Final COTA TUSC Practice

Alex Brundle kept the No. 42 OAK Racing Ligier JS P2 HPD atop the timesheets in the final TUDOR United SportsCar Championship pre-qualifying practice for the Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of the Americas.

Brundle’s late lap of 1:59.701 beat a pair of Corvette DPs, which had returned to the top of the time sheets for most of the session.

Richard Westbrook turned in a 2:00.218 in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP, while Christian Fittipaldi was third at 2:00.332 in the No. 5 Action Express entry.

Jack Hawksworth paced Prototype Challenge at 2:01.304 in the No. 08 RSR Racing Oreca FLM09, just ahead of teammate Bruno Junqueira.

Porsche’s practice pace persisted with the No. 910 Porsche 911 RSR topping the charts for the third consecutive session. A 2:03.626 by Patrick Pilet is the fastest GT Le Mans time of the weekend, with the Nos. 912 and 911 second and fourth.

Jeroen Bleekemolen in the No. 33 Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R at 2:09.440 edged Mario Farnbacher took the No. 23 Team Seattle/AJR Porsche 911 GT America at 2:09.625 in GT Daytona.

Qualifying follows immediately after practice.
