A number of cars have received weight additions ahead of next weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIR.

Released in the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments by IMSA on Friday, all three of the GT Le Mans class cars have received changes in the cars’ minimum weights.

Both the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R and Porsche 911 RSR-19 have been given 20 kg increases, with the BMW M8 GTE dropping 5 kg.

The Porsche has also been given a 5-liter increase in fuel capacity.

Corvette Racing has won the last three IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races with its new-for-2020 car, although has faced stiff competition from Porsche and most notably BMW in the last round at Road America.

The GT Daytona class, meanwhile, sees the Lexus RC F GT3 gain 15 kg as it pursues its fourth consecutive class win, while the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo has been given a 20 kg weight break for the GT-only round.
