Drama for Podium-Contending Cars with Five Hours to Go

Podium-contending No. 31 Action Express, No. 32 United Autosports cars have problems…

Two podium-contending cars have had mechanical problems with a little over five hours of the Rolex 24 at Daytona left to run.

The No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R was taken behind the wall with a similar cooling issue to that on the sister No. 5 car earlier.

Mike Conway was running second at the time and was about to be passed by United Autosports’ Will Owen who was also forced into pit lane with a clutch issue on his No. 32 Ligier JS P217 Gibson.

Both cars are now back out on track with Eric Curran and Paul di Resta driving, running second and fifth respectively.

Christian Fittipaldi still leads in the No. 5 Action Express car while CORE autosport’s Romain Dumas is third.

Dirk Mueller leads Ryan Briscoe in GT Le Mans while Mirko Bortolotti is out front in GT Daytona after a thrilling on-track battle with Madison Snow.
