Chip Ganassi Racing’s IMSA drivers for the new Ford GT program will be revealed on Saturday, the team and manufacturer have confirmed.
Raj Nair, Group Vice President, Global Product Development, and Chief Technical Officer, Ford Motor Company, Dave Pericak, Global Director, Ford Performance and Chip Ganassi, Team Owner, Chip Ganassi Racing Teams will be on hand at Homestead-Miami Speedway, site of this weekend’s NASCAR Ford Championship Weekend.
The press conference will take place just shy of 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21.
A team spokesperson confirmed it is expected to be the IMSA drivers only, with the FIA World Endurance Championship lineup to be revealed at a later date.
While drivers have not been formally confirmed, the lineup figures to include some four-driver full-season combination of Joey Hand, Richard Westbrook, Ryan Briscoe, Billy Johnson, Dirk Mueller, Olivier Pla, Marino Franchitti and Sebastien Bourdais, all of whom have been strongly linked to seats within the overall Ford program for either IMSA or the FIA WEC, in either a full-season or endurance role.
Pla and Franchitti were spotted within the CGR/Ford garage on Tuesday morning at Daytona, joining a handful of others who’ve also made the rounds on site here this week.
