Hardpoint is building up a spare Porsche 911 GT3 R following Katherine Legge’s accident in Thursday night practice at Sebring International Raceway.

Legge lost control of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD contender in Turn 17, making impact with the barriers.

It caused slight chassis damage to the right-rear corner, which is repairable but not with the resources on-site.

Instead, the Virginia-based team is building up its spare chassis utilizing the components from the primary car, per IMSA regulations.

A team spokesperson confirmed to Sportscar365 that the team will miss qualifying for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring but plans to be back on track for morning warmup on Saturday.

Legge is due to share the No. 99 Porsche with team owner/driver Rob Ferriol and open-wheel ace Stefan Wilson.
