Derani Tops Red Flag-Interrupted Final Practice

Pipo Derani topped the fourth and final practice session for tomorrow’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The Brazilian went quickest in the short, 15-minute session held prior to qualifying on Friday morning.

He posted a time of 1:47:763 behind the wheel of the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R, four-tenths clear of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais.

Tom Blomqvist was third for Meyer Shank Racing in the quickest Acura ARX-05, leading Mike Rockenfeller and Tristan Vautier.

Ben Keating was sixth overall and the fastest LMP2 driver, posting a 1:50:158 in the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson.

The Bronze-rated driver set a time that was quicker than efforts by the No. 02 Cadillac of Alex Lynn and No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura of Ricky Taylor.

The short session was briefly interrupted halfway through thanks to a red flag caused by a stoppage for the No. 6 Muelhner Motorsports America Duqueine D08 Nissan, but was resumed.

Ollie Millroy also came to a stop in the No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 with a handful of minutes left on the clock, but the session remained green.

Garett Grist led LMP3 in the No. 30 JrIII Racing Ligier JS P320 Nissan.

Russell Ward was the fastest GTD runner in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo by posting a 2:00:098, with Nick Yelloly quickest in GTD Pro behind the wheel of the No.24 BMW M4 GT3.

Qualifying is now underway to set the grid for the race.
