Mathieu Jaminet will step up to a full Michelin Endurance Cup program with Porsche in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year.
The 24-year-old Frenchman, who has been retained as a Porsche Young Professional, is set to share driving duties of the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR with the returning full-season pairing of Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber.
The trio finished sixth in class in October’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans, in what was Jaminet’s GT Le Mans debut.
Porsche’s driver lineups for the 2019 was confirmed during Saturday’s “Night of Champions” awards ceremony in Weissach.
The sister CORE autosport-run No. 911 entry will return with the unchanged lineup of Nick Tandy and Patrick Pilet, who will again be joined by Fred Makowiecki in the four long-distance races.
The Rock Hill, S.C.-based team, which claimed class wins at Daytona, Sebring as well as overall honors at Petit Le Mans, were recently confirmed to continue operations of the two-car factory GTLM program for at least another three years.
