Oliver Jarvis will spearhead Intersport Racing’s lineup for its long-awaited return to IMSA competition.
The 2022 IMSA DPi champion has been confirmed for the full seven-race season alongside team owner/driver Jon Field, with Seth Lucas set to join the duo for the five Michelin Endurance Cup races in the No. 37 Oreca 07 Gibson.
Job Van Uitert, meanwhile, will complete the HMD Motorsports-run team’s lineup for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
“It’s thrilling to return with this level of talent and support,” said Field. “The blend of experience and youth in our lineup gives us every tool to fight for wins from Daytona onward.”
Field, who took part in last year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona in Inter Europol Competition’s Oreca LMP2 entry, is set for his first full-time IMSA program since the early 2010s, back in the American Le Mans Series and during the previous incarnation of Intersport, which was then run in-house in Ohio by Brian Alder.
Renowned junior open-wheel squad HMD Motorsports will be making its foray into sports car racing with the Intersport effort.
For Jarvis, who has extensive LMP2 experience, it will mark his first full-time WeatherTech SportsCar Championship program since the 2024 season when he was in Pfaff Motorsports’ McLaren 720S GT3 Evo program in GTD Pro.
“I’m really excited to be joining Intersport for the full IMSA season in LMP2,” he said. “It’s great to be back competing in this championship.
“I’ve had some amazing moments here, including wins at Daytona and Sebring, and of course the 2022 DPi title.
“Intersport is ambitious and passionate team, and Jon has built a great program that I’m proud to be a part of. I’m looking forward to getting started and fighting for wins together this year.”
Lucas, 19, who holds prior LMP2, LMP3 and GTD experience, most recently with the now-defunct Korthoff Competition Motors Mercedes-AMG squad, will be making his LMP2 return after contesting the 2024 season with MDK Motorsports-backed High Class Racing effort.
“I am super excited to announce that I will be competing in the LMP2 category with Intersport Racing for the 2026 season, driving alongside Jon Field,” he said. “I would like to thank everyone at Intersport as well as Jon for making this upcoming season possible.”
Van Uitert added: “I’m extremely excited to go racing at Daytona again. It’s very exciting and motivating to be a part of a new project full of energy and ambition. Jon has put a great driver lineup and crew together, and I’m confident that we will fight for the win.”
