The No. 44 GRT Magnus Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo will carry a new livery for the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, with the return of Flex-Box as the primary sponsor.

The Grasser Racing Team-run entry will be driven by former Magnus Racing team owner John Potter and longtime co-driver Andy Lally, with Spencer Pumpelly returning for the Michelin Endurance Cup races and Lamborghini factory driver Marco Mapelli completing the lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

It is one of three Lamborghinis run by the Austrian squad for Daytona.

“I think the GRT Magnus team is doing great at putting something new together and I look forward to competing in this crazy blue machine,” Potter said. “I’m also glad we were able to have Flex-Box back again.

“This year, I wanted to do something different.

“With Magnus Racing broken up, I thought the car should reflect the new wedding that is GRT Magnus: something old (the drivers and Flex-Box), something new (GRT), something borrowed (the GRT crew), and something blue.”

Among the other changes to the operation is the absence of Magnus Racing’s legendary PR rep, Sean Heckman, who will not continue under the new team in 2020.

Known for his witty writing style, Heckman, the host of the popular podcast and now-Amazon Prime series ‘Dinner with Racers’, was behind Magnus’ creative PR campaigns over the last decade.
