Performance Tech Motorsports has finalized its driver lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut for the LMP3 class.

The Florida-based team, which had previously run in the LMP2 class, will field a Ligier JS P320 Nissan for drivers Cameron Cassels, Rasmus Lindh, Ayrton Ori and the previously announced Mateo Llarena.

It marks a largely new program for the Brent O’Neill-led operation, although retaining its signature red and black livery and the No. 38 for the 2021 season.

“This isn’t the first time we’ve had this many new faces and regulations and it won’t be the last,” O’Neill said.

“One of the things that really set my crew apart is their adaptability. I would even go so far as to say that they excel under these conditions.

“I know all of the drivers are quick and are good teammates so there won’t be an issue there.

“What it really comes down to is getting to the track and treating each session like it is the race so by the time the green flag flies we are the most prepared guys on track. That’s how you win an endurance race.”

Cassels, who sat out much of the 2020 season due to Canadian border restrictions, will be making his third Rolex 24 start while Lindh steps up from IMSA Prototype Challenge competition to make his WeatherTech Championship debut.

Both 16-year-olds Llarena and Ori, meanwhile, are also set for their series debuts as the youngest drivers in the 50-car field.

The team has yet to declare full-season drivers for the No. 38, which is one of seven entries in the new-for-2021 LMP3 class at the Rolex 24.
