Pfaff Motorsports has become one of the first teams to have taken delivery of the new Type-992 Porsche 911 GT3 R, ahead of its official customer debut in January’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The Canadian squad, which won this year’s GTD Pro class championship, will continue to race in the all-pro GT3-based class next year with a new driver lineup, with both Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet moving into Porsche Penske Motorsport’s factory LMDh operation.
A statement from Pfaff says that its lineup will be announced in the “coming weeks” in what’s believed to be at the Porsche ‘Night of Champions’ award ceremony next month.
Pfaff is expected to be one of a half-dozen Porsche GTD Pro/GTD entrants that will be competing in the season-opener at Daytona, including entries from Wright Motorsports, Kelly Moss and the upstart AO Racing organization.
