Porsche, Acura to Complete iRacing GTP Lineup

Players can now race all four GTP class cars on popular sim racing platform…

iRacing will present a complete IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP class with the introduction of the Porsche 963 and Acura ARX-06 to the the sim racing platform.

Starting on Sept. 6, both the Acura and Porsche will be made available to players with the introduction of the 2023 Season 4 build to join the already present BMW M Hybrid V8 and Cadillac V-Series.R.

All four made their real-life racing debuts at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, which each car since claiming at least one WeatherTech Championship victory since.

iRacing has had a longstanding partnership with IMSA, which currently runs through to the end of this year.

The Porsche and Acura are the last cars from the WeatherTech Championship’s GTP class to be added to the service.

BMW’s challenger was the first LMDh car to make its way to the platform when it was introduced last December.

This was followed by the Cadillac, which was added on the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June in an update that also saw the  Type-992 Porsche 911 GT3 R introduced.

In addition to the pair of GTP cars, the latest update will also see the introduction of the Ferrari 296 GT3.

Ferrari’s new-for-2023 GT3 challenger was incorporated into the game with assistance from WeatherTech Championship GTD squad Triarsi Competizione.

In addition to hosting photo reference shooting, Triarsi engineers provided data sets, manuals and in-car video to iRacing designers, while drivers Onofrio Triarsi and Alessio Rovera tested pre-launch versions to provide feedback.
