Ricky Taylor Drops Out in Hour 7

Engine failure marks retirement for No. 7 Acura ARX-05 of Ricky Taylor…

The No. 7 Team Penske Acura ARX-05 has dropped out of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in the seventh hour, following engine failure for the race-contending DPi car.

Ricky Taylor ground to a halt on track following the race’s fifth full course caution with an “instant loss of oil pressure” to his Acura DPi, which led early.

It marked the second retirement for a Prototype entry, following gearbox issues that forced the No. 2 Tequila Patron ESM Nissan Onroak DPi out of the race in the opening hour.

The No. 22 ESM Nissan DPi of Pipo Derani leads, ahead of the No. 55 Mazda RT24-P of Spencer Pigot and the lone-remaining No. 6 Penske Acura of Juan Pablo Montoya in third.

Connor De Philippi leads GT Le Mans for BMW Team RLL while the No. 33 Riley Team AMG Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Luca Stolz paces GT Daytona, with 5 hours and 45 minutes to go.
