Risi Competizione has tapped Ferrari factory drivers Davide Rigon and Daniel Serra to defend its IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup title in GTD Pro.

The pair will contest all four long-distance events in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, starting with the Rolex 24 at Daytona where they’re joined by reigning FIA World Endurance GT champions Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado.

Their co-driver for the remaining rounds at Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta will be announced at a later date.

“After our success in winning the IMSA Michelin Endurance GTD Pro Championship last year, it was important to return this year to defend the honor with the new Ferrari 296 GT3,” said team principal Giuseppe Risi.

The team’s No. 62 Ferrari is the sole representation for the Prancing Horse in the eight-car GTD Pro class at the Florida endurance classic, where it faces opposition from Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Lexus, Lamborghini and Aston Martin.

The Houston-based squad kickstarted its title-winning campaign by finishing second in class at Daytona last year, followed a podium finish at Watkins Glen.

It was then stripped of victory at Motul Petit Le Mans due to a drive time infraction after finishing first on the road, but still won the championship.

Risi told Sportscar365 at last year’s season finale that his team was looking to run “the same sort of program” as it did in 2022.
