Schandorff Quickest in VIR Warmup

Frederik Schandorff led the way in warmup for this afternoon’s Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway.

The Inception McLaren driver reeled off a best lap of 1:46.025 to edge out the No. 97 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 of Bill Auberlen by 0.048 seconds.

Loris Spinelli set the third quickest time in the No. 78 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, followed by the sister Turner BMW of Robby Foley in fourth.

The No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD of Antonio Garcia was the quickest GTD Pro class car in fifth.

Seventeen of the 19 cars turned laps in the session, which ran without any major incidents or red flags.

The Michelin GT Challenge gets underway at 2 p.m. EDT with live coverage on USA Network and IMSA Radio.
