Taylor, Acura DPi Goes Quickest of Weekend in Session 6

Acura Team Penske has gone quickest of the weekend, with Ricky Taylor and Juan Pablo Montoya leading a 1-2 in the penultimate test session at the Roar Before the Rolex 24.

Taylor reeled off a 1:33.617 in the No. 7 Acura ARX-05 to edge out teammate Montoya by 0.167 seconds.

The pair of Acura DPis were the only cars to break into the 1:33 range, with the No. 77 Team Joest Mazda DPi third quickest thanks to Olivier Pla’s 1:34.232.

Pla’s co-driver Oliver Jarvis had previously posted the quickest lap of the weekend, a 1:34.753, set in Saturday evening’s session.

Ben Hanley went more than two seconds faster than the evening session to again top LMP2 for DragonSpeed, while the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE of Daniel Serra paced GT Le Mans.

The No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Corey Lewis was quickest in GTD ahead of the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R in second.

The 60-minute session was halted early for an accident in Turn 5 by Steijn Schothorst in the No. 11 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini, which sustained rear-end damage.

It’s unclear if the Lamborghini will be repaired for the seventh and final on-track session, which gets underway at 2:45 p.m. ET.

DPi and GTLM qualifying for pit boxes and garage spaces gets underway at 11:50 a.m., meanwhile.
