Ricky Taylor set the pace in the second and final practice session prior to qualifying for Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Taylor, in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Acura ARX-06, reeled off a best lap of 1:05.870 late in the 1 hour and 45-minute session to edge out the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura of Tom Blomqvist by 0.268 seconds.

Felipe Nasr put the No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 third 0n the time charts, followed by the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Sebastien Bourdais in fourth.

It came after a spin by the Frenchman at Moss Corner that resulted in a brief red flag with less than ten minutes to go.

The No. 6 Penske Porsche of Mathieu Jaminet completed the top-five, meanwhile, ahead of the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8 of Augusto Farfus.

Jack Hawksworth laid down a late flyer to go quickest in GTD Pro, topping the time charts in the production-based ranks in his No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3.

Hawksworth’s 1:14.959 was the only sub 1:15 lap by a GT car in the session.

Forte Racing by US RaceTronic’s Loris Spinelli led the way in the GTD ranks, thanks to a 1:15.269 in the No. 78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 that slotted the Italian second overall.

LMP3 was again led by the No. 30 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320 Nissan of Garett Grist, who improved on his benchmark time from Friday.

Aside from the late-session red flag, the only other notable incident came when the No. 92 Kellymoss with Riley Porsche 911 GT3 R of David Brule and George Staikos’ Ave Motorsports Ligier had a coming together at Moss Corner.

Both cars managed to return to the pits with minor damage.
