Kuno Wittmer has completed CJ Wilson Racing’s lineup for next weekend’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, in the team’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut.
The former IMSA GT Le Mans class champion joins Marc Miller and Till Bechtolsheimer at the wheel of the team’s Acura NSX GT3, which is currently confirmed for the remainder of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup races.
It will mark the Canadian’s first WeatherTech Championship race since claiming GTLM class honors in last year’s Motul Petit Le Mans with BMW Team RLL.
“I’m truly excited about this opportunity not only to be back in a GT Car but also to be surrounded by such a good team,” Wittmer said.
“The NSX was car was going through the its development stages in 2017 but clearly showed it’s potential and that has been reflected in the start that the HPD teams have had this year.”
Wittmer, who is undertaking a full-season TCR program in an Audi RS 3 LMS with Compass Racing, is so-far only confirmed for the second round of the Patron Endurance Cup.
The team’s Acura broke cover during last month’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Sebring, and could contest additional WeatherTech Championship races later this year.
