Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli won Race 2 to sweep the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Marcelli led the field to green for the second 50-minute contest of the event, with Formal taking the checkered flag in the championship-winning duo’s No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2.

Ryan Norman made it a second consecutive 1-2 finish for the WTR Andretti squad, finishing 5.352 seconds off the lead.

TR3 Racing’s Giano Taurino and Lucas Petersson completed the Pro class podium, while the No. 30 ANSA Motorsports machine and the No. 8 WTR Andretti car completed the top-five.

In Pro-Am, John Capestro Dubets charged through the field from sixth on the grid to claim a Race 2 class win for Precision Performance Motorsports.

Aided partially by incidents for a pair of Flying Lizard cars ahead, Capestro Dubets and co-driver Tom Capizzi rebounded from Race 1 to claim their first class win of the season.

NTE Sport’s Shehan Chandrasoma and Keawn Tandon came home second in class, with the No. 41 Flying Lizard car rounding out the Pro-Am podium.

A late move from the solo-driven Pro class No. 77 of Jake Walker sent Slade Stewart’s “Sparklefarts” Lamborghini into a spin at the Andretti Hairpin and into the gravel trap, bringing out a yellow while the car was retrieved.

Stewart, who was running second in Pro-Am at the time, rejoined last in class, finishing eighth in class.

Chris Bellomo’s Flying Lizard Lamborghini lost time going off track in the finals laps while fighting for the Pro-Am podium.

David Staab took a solo win in Am to lead a 1-2 for PPM ahead the No. 69 car of Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee, who made up places from fourth on the grid.

Early in the race, Rob Walker spun his No. 45 PPM Lamborghini from the Am class lead at the final corner. He rejoined the field last in class, where he and teammate Christopher Tasca would take the checkered flag.

Meanwhile, Mark Wilgus was victorious in LB Cup for the second time this weekend after inheriting the lead from Forte Racing by USRT teammate Jon Hirshberg after the pit cycle.

Morning Monterey fog impacted the day’s racing schedule, ultimately pushing the race start back by one hour to 10:40 a.m. PT.

The race was started under yellow to allow the 32-car field to get their Hankook tires up to their proper operating temperature in the colder race conditions, with the race only having one additional neutralization.

RESULTS: Race 2
